A New Kind of Project: PROJECT SNAPSHOT

So I’ve decided to start ‘Project Snapshot’ (a more creative title may follow).

In a bid to get me photographing my life more, like I used to, I’m starting this project.
This isn’t a project I ever plan to exhibit, make a book of or anything like that which seems to come along with the word ‘project’, though I am willing to sell prints of almost any image (you know the drill, send an email). No, this is for FUN, for me and for you (if you’re interested). I take photos most days, most of these images are for clients, for projects, with deadlines and briefs. Don’t get me wrong, I love it, in fact I adore it. However, back in the day, before photography was my career, before I even took my degree, my camera would go everywhere with me. I would snap everything I saw and share it online, it was always really fun and great to look back on. It also got me excited about using my camera for ME, not for anyone else, but I was taking photos for myself. It let me experiment, it let me be free.

So, I’m starting this in a bid to win back my old enthusiasm for ‘snapshots’. A dirty word to many photographers, but it excites me. The photos may vary in quality, some may be good, some not so good but the aim is not to care. Now that I have a blog it is the ideal opportunity to share. Some people keep diaries with words and this will be a journal of my life through photos. I may post one image, I may post 20. I might post everyday, I might post every few days, I might just post photos, I might add a few words or an essay. It’s all about fun, sharing images, sharing a bit of my life and hopefully it’ll be a good way to document these years. Any questions or suggestions? Fire away!
