My First Video Blog Post!
So, I promised new things on this blog and here you have it. First go. Video blogging. As I say in the video, I have a funny little accent (well, funny to most of you non Northern Irish people) and who knows, maybe I’ll do one of those “How to speak Belfast” videos in the future. Or not. Either way, let me try this.
It’s taken using photobooth on the MacBook Pro (technology the dreams are made of, eh?). However, if this cinematic urge keeps its grip on me then I’m busting out my hi-definition video camera complete with Leica lenses and compactness to make a nerd melt. It’s my Dad’s, but he gave it too me – or did I take it from him? So here’s to new, exciting, fun things that I’m going to stick up on this old, tired blog.
By the way, if I look and sound tired, it’s because I am tired in a way beyond human comprehension. So stick with it.

aw Sarah your accent isn’t that terrible, I understood every word just fine. I actually really like your accent, it’s a little nadeen girls aloud haha. Do another!
also if you do any kind of collective thing fill me in, maybe add me to an emailers list or something i’d like to be apart of it.

Oh NO! NO! NO! Danny…..NO!
NUH-DEEN is from Derry, which is this city up in the North-West of Northern Ireland, us Belfast folk are known for making fun of Derry folk (and I mean this light-heartedly way, lol). So anyway, yes, Nadine is the poster girl for bad Derry accents and we Belfast kids spend our lives mocking her. If Belfast was NYC or LA, then Derry would be….um, Fargo? (I don’t know, really, haha).
Plus, Nadine is a flat out cover-up Chav.
This post is bringing out my inner snob. No, wait, my outer snob. Though, you mention Nadine, this is what happens!
I had you in mind actually as one of the people for this collective (whatever it’ll be). So, if you’re in then, can I stick you down for adding to the list of people I’ll email once I round up enough troops then? I think it’ll be really fun and encouraging for us.

I have hair envy
I always sound weird/unnatural whenever I’m “talking into nothing/at nobody” so bravo for dipping your toes into video blogging! Good first post, you didn’t ramble at all.
I lol’d at the Nadine comment, it’s time for a smackdown! I like to think we have soft and inoffensive N.Irish accents but everyone else who’s not from here seems to dig the Belfast thing!

Ahh, I like this post! Video posts make people seem more REAL. Your accent sounds quite subtle and is very easy to understand! (I think, generally, men are harder to understand) Had no problem at all. My boyfriend is from Donegal and I always get at him for ‘not sounding Irish’ and people ask him if he’s from Northern Ireland, so he just says ‘kinda’ to avoid explaining it. To be honest, I thought the whole top section was N. Ireland before I met him, woops. Err, but yeh, great video! Lovely accent! Do more!

Thank you soooo much for doing a video post finally! You’ve just confirmed your gorgeousness. Your face/hair are just so pretty. : ) And I do love your accent… It’s not difficult to understand and its really… you : )
I love that you want to do a group project. I’ve always wanted to do stuff like that, but since I’m not in school for design right now, I’m no longer putting things together / thinking artistically as I used to (I feel like I’m going braindead!). But I did used to be hardcore artsy fartsy, that just the thought of something like that makes me excited too.
So one day if I end up going back into school I would love to do something together. Likeeeee…. well I could tell you in an email if you’d be interested. I can’t right now… but one day given the opportunity and space I think it would be the funnest thing ever. Seriously!

Ahah Sarah! There’s nothing wrong with your accent, I understood everything you said!
I just wanted to say that I’m very interested in your project so if you’ll have me I definitely want to contribute.

Fabulous, Diana. I’d love to have you on board given how wonderful your work is. You’d be a real asset. I think, what I will do is create some kind of mailing list and send out the details. So I will make a post here very soon for everyone who is interested and you can leave your details, if you are in. It should be great fun and a really cool way for us to all open to new audiences and gain wider exposure, don’t you think?
Hope you’re keeping well. xx

hey gorgeous! loved the post, heard every word… extremely inspired by your work and your blog, and would like you to know i often stop by to look at your posts and think about all of the things i wish i were still doing with regards to photography. i’ve really neglected that part of myself for some time. perhaps i can contribute in some small way to your project, and i would love to see another video post! also– very sorry i missed you while you were in houston, but hopefully i will have the chance to see you next time!

I love it! And I love your accent & understood every word, haha. I can totally relate to some of what you were saying, about a lack of photography over the last few years & a geeky love of blogging! For me, my problem is the totally unreliable and long hours of my retail job, leaving me with very little time for creativity & affecting my dreams! Sob. I’m jobhunting like a madwoman.
Also, this collective sounds like a great idea! I’d love to be involved in some way, or even just see the results of it all! Awesome.

Haha Sarah love the vid! I find your blog really interesting, Claire’s too actually. You help me see sense in this crazy design world I’m not even sure I should be a part of sometimes. Definately one to watch!
P.S: The accent is fine! Understood everything!
